Friday, a new management will arrive at Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority. Tony Samson is the new temporary utility head. He said this morning that people should be patient if they want to see results.
“I have been working on this for a few days now”, Tony Samson says. “My priority was to make sure I understand Puerto Rico, its people and culture and the needs after the hurricane. I am confident I am the man PREPA needs. I am ready to succeed where the person before me failed”.
Even if he plans to work really hard from the first day, Tony Samson warns everyone counting on him that he can only do so much, considering the situation his predecessor left.
“I have been sent here recently and people are already expecting so much from me. They do not realise the reality of the situation in Puerto Rico. You have all those people counting on you, from the tiny firm in Montana to the President of the United States. I am determined to do my best to make everybody happy but I can’t do miracles. There is very little money left to embezzle. I’ll still do my best to ensure that as many people as possible get a part of the cake. You can count on me”.
As busy as Tony is, he doesn’t forget Puerto Ricans neither.
“Sure”, he says. “If I have time, I’ll see what I can do to improve the conditions they live in. But as I said previously, I will be busy, people should just be patient and give me some time”.
